About Holiko

At Holiko, we bring together people who are truly passionate about healthy skin.

Our team includes experts in natural raw materials, gentle formulations, and meticulous production processes—as well as creative minds who challenge conventional ideas and bring fresh perspectives.

Together, we work to develop skincare products that are effective, gentle on the skin, and inspired by nature.

We place great importance on involving our community from the very start of the product development process—to understand their wishes and ideas early on and create products that truly make a difference.

“For me, it’s a privilege to help people achieve healthier skin.”

Dr. Beatrix Förster,

, Founder and CEO of Holiko

How did you come up with the idea of starting Holiko?

I spent many years conducting research at the University Medical Center Utrecht, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, and Stanford University—focusing on the molecular mechanisms underlying skin diseases, as well as immune-based therapies and alternatives to antibiotics.

In addition to my scientific work, I completed training in naturopathy and the production of natural cosmetics.

Holiko gives me the unique opportunity to make skincare concepts accessible that are rooted in my knowledge and my love for natural ingredients—concepts that have already proven valuable within my own family and among friends.

Where does the name Holiko come from?

Holiko has two meanings for me:

First, the key active ingredient in our products is colostrum—the first milk from cows—often referred to as “liquid gold.” As the source of this valuable substance, cows are sacred to me, just as they are revered in India.

Second, I am fascinated by the colors of the Holi Festival in India. When people throw colored powders at each other, their skin seems to visibly reflect the vibrant diversity of a healthy skin microbiome.

How do your children explain what you do at Holiko?

“My mom helps people with itchy, red skin look beautiful again.”

Where can people find you when you’re not working?

I’m happiest when I’m outdoors—whether I’m with our family dog Lucy or tending to my quails in the garden. Nature is also where I find inspiration for new plant-based active ingredients.
